Q: I'm a Family Nurse Practitioner and Emergency Department registered nurse. My last HGBA1c was 6.1. I'm frustrated with my endocrinologist- Of course, I live in a relatively rural area, and endocrinologists are new to the area. I am disconcerted that they have no advice on management of exercising pump users.
Does insurance cover your services, if I can get an RV from my PCP or endocrinologist?
A: I understand your concern about not being able to find anyone to help you around glucose control with exercise. It's a common complaint and one of the reasons that Fit4D was founded. Our CEO, David Weingard, is an athlete and he founded Fit4D when he learned that there were lots of folks who could help him with his athletic training, but no one who could consistently advise him on how to prevent wide blood sugar excursions with exercise. Unfortunately we are not covered by insurance yet, but I believe that the price of our services is very competitive with gym membership or other personal training services, and you're getting very individualized coaching to help you meet your goals. I'm looking forward to talking with you!
